I just found a bunch of videos from a minitour in September. This is my new song “Come & Go” performed at Last Bite on 9/23/10 ( a great cafe, warm people, great towns and surrounding in the Hudson Valley ) in High Falls, NY. I was traveling with friend & talented musician The Bones of J.R. Jones ( be sure to check out his music, CD in the works, but you can find tunes & info @ http://www.myspace.com/thebonesofdaveyjones :.: don’t let the band name change confuse you~ )
I wrote the song in the home of another very lovely friend & talented musician, Chris Bathgate in Michigan. Chris’ music:.: http://www.myspace.com/chrisbathgate ~ ~ while on a solo Midwest tour in August. There’s just something about lakes, the open road, questioning yourself, relationships~whatever they may be, being alone in the gravel and blue skies, new friends, new scenery ~~ that gets a song M O V I N G.
I haven’t recorded this song yet at home but here’s a live version.
take a listen & let me know what ya think!

Keeping up with the footage, here’s some from 9/12/10 :: my band PAPERTREES (www.myspace.com/papertreesmusic) at our 3rd year in a row playing GREENFEST PHILLY (www.greenfestphilly.org - awesome eco-friendly event!) As it goes with outdoor shows, there’s some feedback issues in the beginning, but we never stop! Here we are as a 4-piece instead of 5, playing one our oldest tunes, reinvented, “PRETENDER” ~~~ This video features: Carl Cheeseman - electric guitar Phil D’Agostino - upright bass Alec Meltzer - drums
I just discovered my cover of “Woody Guthrie’s America” recorded in early 2010 :: The Akron/Family made a project for people all over the world to record their version of this song. Here is mine.
& Here is their site for the project~ http://www.akronfamily.com/woodyproject
enjoy the varieties!
“THE FORGIVEN SIGHS” 11.20.10 Lyrics were written a few days ago, and then I picked up my guitar in celebration of my former weekly project, and wrote this melody and recorded it just now. I think this could be a papertrees tune ~ I can imagine the drumbeat now.
